We’ve been inspired by a new National Day of Action taking place on June 23rd called TogetherTuesday. TogetherTuesday was Created by Be the People, the creators of GivingTuesday. The goal of TogetherTuesday is to demonstrate that small acts of kindness can build trust, connection, and civic engagement at scale.

We love the intention of this new holiday and have a planned activity to help bring our cat community together while making an impact on Houston Community cats.

We are planning a Trap-Neuter-Return (TNR) meeting at El Gato to educate attendees on how-to trap and to plan TNR days targeting cat colonies in need. We are planning a Trap-Neuter-Return (TNR) meeting at El Gato to educate attendees on how-to trap and to plan TNR days targeting cat colonies in need. We are encouraging those that are passionate about TNR and those interested in learning how to TNR to attend. We’ll group attendees by the part of Houston they live in to create TNR teams. These teams can pick a colony to focus on and determine their own trapping date.

If interested in being involved in any capacity, please complete the TNR Questionnaire which will help us to set the initial meeting and target colonies / neighborhoods in need. We’ll also launch a fundraiser to help cover the spay/ neuter surgeries and to purchase supplies.
