Volunteer Requirements

Volunteers are essential to our lifesaving mission. In order for you to get the most out of your experience at El Gato Charities, there are a few requirements we ask volunteers to meet.

We ask that you

Submit an online application. Apply here

Complete an online general volunteer orientation session. You will receive an email with sign-up information

Volunteer at least monthly.

Treat all animals with kindness and concern for their welfare.

Represent yourself and El Gato Charities in a professional manner and treat clients, staff, and other volunteers with respect.

Volunteer Orientation and Onboarding

Orientation and onboarding are required before you can begin

volunteering with El Gato Charities!

Step 1: Complete the Volunteer Application.

Step 2: Attend a virtual Orientation session - sign up will be emailed to you

Our Outreach Manager will brief you on the facility protocols, El Gato Charities's mission, volunteer tasks, and will answer any questions.

Orientation is offered on Sundays at 3 pm

Step 3: Attend in person volunteer shift

A staff member will give you a tour of the cottage and brief training. They will show you the book of bios for you to become familiar with our resident cats. During your shift, you will be promoting our resident cats for adoption.
